Finnish Academy of Fine Arts (Kuvataideakatemia) is an international university focusing on the fine arts – the only one of its kind in Finland.

Working closely with the wonderful people at the Academy, we did a full-scale redesign for the website, starting from concept design workshops and information architecture wireframes all the way to layout design and art direction for photography.

One of the main goals for the redesign was to give emphasis on the students’ artwork. This was achieved by designing a-site-within-a-site gallery section that you can access everywhere on the main site. The gallery section is loosely based on a metaphor of a paper drawer full of works of art.
